Day 1
Historic walking tour of Tbilisi with wine tasting
Tbilisi is a very historic city that was founded in the 5th century by King Vakhtang I of Iberia. His statue at Metekhi bridge is where the tour will begin.
During the first part of the tour we will visit:
The near 800 year old St Metekhi Church, an archaeological site of the oldest bathhouse in Tbilisi dating back to the founding of the city, the 700 year old Armenian St George Church. After these incredible historical sites we will walk through Leghvtakhevi Canyon to Leghvtakhevi water fall for a rest.
After a short rest we will continue to a couple must see sites in Tbilisi, the 1600 year old Narikala Fortress that sites on top of a hill with amazing panoramic views of Tbilisi and the surrounding area, and the Mother of Georgia one of Georgia’s most iconic monuments.
After experiencing the history of Tbilisi there is no better way than to top off the day with some wine tasting at Karalashvili Wine Cellar.
Day 2
Ananuri Fortress, Gergeti Trinity Church and Kazbegi Mountain
Hotel pick up around 9:00 am
After the hotel pick up we will head up the old military highway where we will see absolutely stunning scenery along with historical sites.
The first stop is Ananuri Fortress. With over 700 years of history involving several sieges this fortress has a unique history including how it got its name. Which involves a woman named Ann being captured and tortured to get information about a secret tunnel the fortress used to get supplies. She refused and died not wanting to betray her friends and family in the fortress.
Next will stop at the Russian-Georgian friendship monument that has incredible art work all along the inside and some of best views of landscape you will see.
After stopping for lunch we will make our way to Stepantsminda, Gergeti Trinity Church and Kazbegi Mountain. One of the most recognizable and iconic buildings in Georgia and the entire Caucacus, this 14th century church sits in the shadows of Kazbegi Mountain.
After a day incredible historical sites and stunning scenery of the Caucasus Mountains we will head back to Tbilisi and arrive around 7pm.
Day 3
DashiBashi Canyon & Didgori Battle Monument
Hotel pick up at 930am
After leaving your hotel we will take a scenic ride to DashBashi Canyon where you will get to enjoy incredible scenery as you walk down into the canyon and experience waterfalls at the bottom of the canyon. You will also get to experience a modern marvel in the Glass bridge that goes over DashBashi Canyon.
After the natural wonder of DashiBashi Canyon we head up to Didgori Battle Monument. On the way you will get to experience local culture and see huge flocks of sheep being herded to different grazing grounds. Once at the monument you will see a breath taking monument, great views of the surrounding while learning about one of the most famous battles in Georgia’s long history.
Hotel drop off at 6pm.
Day 4
Kakheti region and Gareja Monastery
Hotel pick up around 10am
On the last day of the tour we head to wine country in Georgia. The Kakheti region is the most famous wine region in a country world famous for making wine. First we will head to Sagerejo and visit the 500 year old walled Ninotsminda monastery
after experiencing the incredible architecture of Ninostminda we will engage in some of Geogia’s finest wine tasting in Sagerejo
After lunch in Sagarejo we head to David Gareja Monastery. One of the most famous monastery’s in the Caucasus.
Originally founded in the 6th century this Monastery is a site to see and sites in the beautiful landscape of East Georgia.

This 8 day trip will be an epic adventure through the historical and beautiful country of Georgia that will take you from Tbilisi the capital and surrounding areas to the Adjara region and Machakhela National Park. You will experience historical sites such as Ananuri Fortress while surrounded by epic mountain peaks, visit Roman built Gonio Fortress on the Black Sea along with medieval castles in the hills of Machakhela National Park. This adventure will take you to natural wonders such as the Prometheus Caves, waterfalls in Machakhela National Park along with the beautiful Caucasus Mountain range.

Day 1
Arrival: Airport pick up from Tbilisi airport. Take to hotel.
Day 2

Day 4
Travel to Machakhela National Park and Prometheus Caves tour
We will leave the hotel in Tbilisi around 9am and head to West Georgia to Machakhela National Park. On the way we will stop by Kutaisi for lunch which is the oldest continuously occupied town in Europe.
After lunch we will tour a natural wonder in the Prometheus Caves.
We then head up to Machakhela National Park where a traditional Georgian dinner awaits us.
Day 5
Wine and cheese tasting and tour around Machakhela National Park.
Breakfast at 10am.
During this tour of Machakhela we will stop by:
Gvara Fortess. Built in the VI century this fortress gives a commanding view of the Machakhlistskali river and surrounding area.
Arch Bridge. This medieval built bridge is a beautiful site with zip lining offered and a restaurant that serves all kinds of drinks.
David Castle: Machakhela is filled with traditional cultural and interesting characters and stories where you will visit. Here you will see where a local built his house on top of a 1000 year old castle while trying some local food and wine.
At this point you will have options to visit a ethnographic museum, a gun making museum and hike to a waterfall or all of the above.
After a day of full of fun we will enjoy wine and cheese tasking at the Malakmadze Guest house
Dinner around 6pm
Day 6
Gonio Fortress, The Black Sea and Batumi.
Breakfast at 10am.
After breakfast we head to Gonio Fortress. A fortress built by the Romans and later occupied by the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires. With over 1800 years of history this is a must see archaeology site on the Black Sea.
After touring Gonio Fortress get dropped off anywhere in Batumi and walk around the city seeing great places tell you decide to go back to the lodging.

Tour Petra Fortress/Botanical Garden
Breakfast 10am
Tour of VI century Petra fortress and a chance to admire the architecture and beautiful surroundings at this historical site. Afterward you get entrance to Batumi Botanical Gardens. An absolutely beautiful place for nature lovers.

Day 8
Drive back to Tbilisi/Trip to Katskhi Monastery
Breakfast 9am
After 10 days of amazing adventures throughout Georgia we will will head back to Tblisi making several stops along the way for lunch, and to see the famous Katski Monastery built in an incredible location.
You will be back in Tbilisi around 7pm or we can drop you off anywhere along the way.

Day 1
Hotel pick up and Martvilli Canyon
We will pick you up from your hotel around 9 in either Kutaisi or Batumi then go on one of the most scenic drives you will ever experience. Before we get to the Svaneti region we will stop by Martvili Canyon and explore a beautiful canyon and river.
After Martvilli Canyon we will drive through stunning landscape that is the Svaneti region on our way to Mestia, makings stops along the way for sight seeing.
Day 2
Chalaadi Glacier and Mestia Historical Museum
After a good breakfast at your lodging we head out to Chalaadi Glacier. With the Caucasus Mountains all around we will hike for about 1 hour tell we get to Chalaadi Glacier where you can spend as much time as you like enjoying the view of the glacier and eating what ever snacks you bring.
Once we are done hiking back you will get entrance into the Mestia Historical Museum and learn about the fascinating history and cultures of the region.
After a day of Glaciers, Mountains and history you can choose to walk around and breath in the atmosphere of Mestia with its medieval towers everywhere or stop in for dinner some where.
Day 3
Day trip to Ushguli
On the 3rd day of this trip we head further into the Caucasus to the village of Ushguli. Ushguli’s remoteness has allowed it to keep much of its traditional architecture. This has allowed this incredible village to be a recognized UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On this trip to Ushguli we will visit historical sites such as The Tower of Love, Lamaria church and the Ushguli ethnographic museum.
After getting back to Mestia you can join us for an optional pub crawl to our favorite places to get a beer or wine.
Day 4
Depart Mestia/Prometheus Caves
We will leave after breakfast around 10am on our way back we ill stop by the Prometheus Caves, one of the biggest cave systems in the Caucasus. Once you have experienced this natural wonder we will drop you off in either Batumi or Kutaisi around 6 pm.

Lodging will be at the Malakmadze Guest house in the Machakhela National Park. We will be excavating the medieval settlement of Kintureti. Plan for excursions to Gonio Fortress, Petra Fortress, Archaeology sites around Machakhela, the city of Batumi and The Black Sea.
