Archaeology Projects
Arch Travel Adventures was started by archaeologists and is run by active archaeologists. We are pleased to be partnered with two ongoing international archaeology projects that are accepting participants of all walks of life.
The International Hellenic University in Thessaloniki, Greece, offers the Archaeology in Action program where participants can help with an archaeological excavation of Trapeza of Neo Rysio-Kardia settlement that dates to the early Iron Age and Archaic period (11th-6th century BC)
The Machakhela Archaeology Project in Machakhela, Georgia, has ongoing archaeological surveys and excavations in the beautiful mountanous Machakhela National Park, where help is needed to find new sites while on survey and to excavate Chukuneti Castle that dates from the 10th-19th century AD and was part of the Silk Road Trade Route.
